The Washington Huskies are now one of the 40 programs to offer the top-ranked safety in Arizona in the 2028 class.

The Washington Huskies are making serious waves on the recruiting trail, and their latest target is a big one. Head coach Jedd Fisch and his staff have officially extended an offer to Jaelyn Easterling-Flores, a standout safety from Desert Edge High School in Arizona—and one of the most sought-after underclassmen in the nation.

Easterling-Flores, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect, is ranked as the No. 52 overall player and the No. 5 safety in the 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite. He's already racked up 40 offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas, so the competition is fierce. But Washington has a unique edge: Desert Edge has become a key pipeline for the Huskies, with two 2027 commits already in the fold (four-star QB Blake Roskopf and four-star WR Zerek Sidney).

On the field, Easterling-Flores is a force. In just eight games as a sophomore, he posted 45 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. His film shows a player who combines physicality with sharp instincts—exactly what defensive coordinator Ryan Walters and safeties coach Taylor Mays look for in a versatile back-end defender.

What really sets him apart is his flexibility. His high school coaching staff trusts him to line up as deep safety, in the box, or even as an outside linebacker to blitz or stop the run. That kind of adaptability mirrors how Walters used All-Big Ten honoree Alex McLaughlin in 2025, suggesting Easterling-Flores could see early playing time in college.

He's the third Desert Edge 2028 prospect to receive a UW offer, joining five-star edge rusher Jalanie George and four-star cornerback Nekhi Lambeth. With his combination of size, athleticism, and football IQ, Easterling-Flores is a name to watch as the Huskies continue to build for the future.
