Get ready for the biggest halftime show in sports history! FIFA has just announced that global icons Shakira, Madonna, and K-pop sensations BTS will headline the first-ever World Cup final halftime performance. The historic event is set for July 19 at New Jersey's Metlife Stadium, promising to captivate millions of viewers worldwide.

This groundbreaking show, curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin, marks a new era for soccer's biggest stage. While the Super Bowl has long dominated halftime entertainment, the World Cup is now stepping into the spotlight with a lineup that spans generations and continents. The performance will be produced by the non-profit Global Citizen, with proceeds benefiting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund—a initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football for children globally.

The 2026 World Cup kicks off June 11 in Mexico City, with matches spanning across the US, Canada, and Mexico. In a unique twist, $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the education fund. FIFA president Gianni Infantino teased the performance back in March, calling it "a historic moment... befitting the biggest sporting event in the world."

However, soccer purists might wonder about timing. Official rules state halftime breaks shouldn't exceed 15 minutes, and it's unclear if adjustments will be made for this star-studded show. Last week, FIFA also announced reggaeton star J Balvin will headline the opening ceremony in Mexico City, joined by Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, and others.

Whether you're a die-hard fan or tuning in for the music, this World Cup promises to be unforgettable—both on and off the pitch.
