Bernardo Silva: Latest on Juventus talks, Barca threat and rejected offers

Juventus have until the beginning of the 2026 World Cup to convince Bernardo Silva to join them on a free transfer for 2026-27, but the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray remain lurki...

The clock is ticking for Juventus as they race to secure Bernardo Silva's signature before the 2026 World Cup kicks off. The Portuguese star has confirmed he'll leave Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, setting off a transfer scramble that has some of Europe's biggest clubs circling.

Silva, now 31, wants his next move sorted before he starts World Cup preparations with Portugal. "I want to resolve it between the end of the season and the start of training with the National Team so I can have a clear head," he told Canal 11 in Portugal. "The World Cup is too important a competition for me to have my head on other things."

This timeline could work in Juventus's favor. Reports from Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport indicate the Bianconeri have already been in contact with super-agent Jorge Mendes, with CEO Damien Comolli leading the negotiations. The six-time Premier League winner would arrive on a free transfer, making him an attractive proposition for a club looking to rebuild without breaking the bank.

But Juventus aren't alone in the hunt. Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Galatasaray are all lurking in the background, while Benfica and clubs from the Saudi Pro League and MLS have also been mentioned. According to Tuttosport, Juventus may have an edge over Barcelona, who need to offload players before they can afford Silva's wages. That financial flexibility could be the deciding factor in a transfer saga that's heating up as the World Cup approaches.
