LeBron James has officially ruled out one potential destination for the next chapter of his legendary career. In a recent appearance on the YouTube show "Bob Does Sports," the Lakers star made it clear that the Memphis Grizzlies will never be on his list, even joking about a legendary draft-day maneuver to avoid them.

Reflecting on the 2003 NBA Draft, where he was the consensus first pick, James revealed that if the Grizzlies had won the lottery instead of the Cleveland Cavaliers, he "might have pulled an Eli Manning." This refers to the famous 2004 NFL Draft standoff where Eli Manning refused to play for the San Diego Chargers, forcing a trade shortly after being selected.

His comments weren't about the Grizzlies organization itself, but rather the city. When asked about the grind of NBA travel at age 41, James was blunt. He lamented the idea of a "random ass Thursday" in Memphis, contrasting it with the vibrant sports scene in Nashville, which he suggested as a better home for the franchise.

"They've got everything," James said, citing Vanderbilt University, NASCAR, and a hockey team as assets Nashville possesses. He's not alone in this view; Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently made a similar case for moving the team to Nashville on his podcast, highlighting the city's superior infrastructure for professional sports.

While expansion talks swirl, one thing is certain: LeBron James will never suit up for the Memphis Grizzlies. The only chance was over two decades ago, and even then, he was prepared to make a historic draft-day statement to ensure it didn't happen.
