The New York Knicks received a major boost on Friday as forward OG Anunoby practiced fully for the first time since suffering a hamstring strain, raising expectations for his potential return in the NBA Eastern Conference finals.

Knicks head coach Mike Brown confirmed the encouraging development, stating, "He practiced today in full, yeah." Brown added, "It's definitely encouraging to see somebody who was out be able to go out there and practice, full practice, like OG did."

Anunoby sustained the injury late in Game 2 of the Knicks' second-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers on May 6. Despite his absence, New York rallied to complete a 4-0 sweep, showcasing their depth. However, his potential return would be a game-changer as the Knicks prepare to face either the top-seeded Detroit Pistons or the Cleveland Cavaliers for a spot in the NBA Finals.

This season, Anunoby has been a vital two-way contributor, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game while providing elite perimeter defense. His ability to guard multiple positions and knock down clutch shots makes him a critical piece for a deep playoff run.

Brown emphasized a cautious approach, noting that the medical staff will dictate Anunoby's workload moving forward. "At the end of the day, I'm going to wait and let the medical group tell me each day what he can do," Brown said. "We'll see if they tell me something different tomorrow."

For Knicks fans and basketball enthusiasts alike, Anunoby's progress is a promising sign as the Eastern Conference finals loom. Whether he suits up for Game 1 or later in the series, his presence could tip the scales in what promises to be a thrilling battle for a championship berth.
