Niceville softball got two prodigious blasts from Sydney Hann and Anabelle Shackelford and the Eagles beat Gulf Breeze 6-3 to advance to the Elite 8.

In a thrilling display of power and poise, the Niceville Lady Eagles soared past Gulf Breeze 6-3 in the regional semifinals, punching their ticket to the Elite 8 with two monumental home runs from Sydney Hann and Anabelle Shackelford.

From the first pitch, Niceville set the tone. Starting pitcher Chloe Bailey commanded the circle, delivering key strikeouts and keeping the Gulf Breeze batters off balance. Meanwhile, the Eagles' offense wasted no time. Layla Hughes crossed the plate for the game's first run, igniting a spark that would grow into a roaring fire.

But Gulf Breeze refused to back down. After Niceville built a 3-0 lead, the Lady Dolphins mounted a fierce comeback. Ashlynn Stemcosky slid safely into home, tying the game and silencing the home crowd for a moment. It was a test of character for the young Eagles squad—and they answered in spectacular fashion.

That's when Hann and Shackelford stepped into the spotlight. With the game hanging in the balance, Hann launched a prodigious blast that sent the ball soaring over the outfield fence, reclaiming the lead and shifting all momentum back to Niceville. Not to be outdone, Shackelford followed with a towering home run of her own, putting the game out of reach and sending the Eagles' dugout into a frenzy.

The Eagles' defense tightened up behind Bailey, with Quinn Graham moving runners into scoring position and Coley Gatwood sliding safely into second to keep pressure on the Gulf Breeze infield. Molly Mayfield anchored the defense behind the plate, and the Eagles' baserunning kept the Lady Dolphins on their heels.

When the final out was recorded, Niceville had secured a 6-3 victory and a spot in the regional finals. For a team that has shown resilience all season, this win was another chapter in what is shaping up to be a memorable playoff run. With Hann and Shackelford swinging hot bats and Bailey dealing in the circle, the Lady Eagles are proving they have the firepower to compete with anyone.

Next up: a shot at the Elite 8 and a chance to keep their championship dreams alive. For Niceville softball, the stage is set for something special.
