Granada Hills High School has done it again. The Highlanders swept both the boys' and girls' team titles at the City Section swimming finals, held this year at East Los Angeles College, extending a dynasty that shows no signs of slowing down.

On the girls' side, Granada Hills claimed its fourth consecutive championship and 10th overall, racking up 458 points to easily outpace runners-up Cleveland (226) and Palisades (222). The streak is impressive, though the team has its sights set on matching the school record of six straight titles set from 1995 to 2000.

"We've won City every year since I was a freshman, so I'm pretty happy," said senior co-captain Elaina Brier, who is committed to UC Santa Cruz. "I got second in both of my individual events and won my relays. We turned into such a dominant team, and this is the strongest one."

Individual standouts included Isabella San Jose, who swept the 200 individual medley (2:08.64) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.66). GALA's Jordyn Hale defended her 50 freestyle title in 24.14 seconds and added the 100 freestyle crown in 53.06. Venice's Elise Kao repeated as 200 freestyle champion with a time of 1:54.98, while Granada Hills' Meygen Flores took second in that event before flipping the script to win the 100 butterfly in 58.21. The Highlander girls also flexed their depth, taking third, fourth, and fifth in the 500 freestyle before closing with a winning 400 freestyle relay in 3:42.78.

The boys' team matched that intensity, piling up a staggering 512 points for their third straight title and fourth overall. Palisades finished second with 275 points—the fourth consecutive year they've been the bridesmaid—edging Cleveland by just two points.

Princeton-bound captain Ryan Zheng delivered a signature performance, winning the 200 and 500 freestyles for the third straight year and anchoring the Highlanders' winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays. His consistency has been a cornerstone of Granada Hills' rise, and this year's team showed it has the depth to keep the streak alive.

For a program that has turned championship swimming into an expectation, this sweep is just another chapter in a growing legacy. Whether it's the girls chasing history or the boys asserting their dominance, Granada Hills remains the team to beat in City Section swimming.
