Manchester United legend Gary Neville has urged the club to make a bold decision regarding Mason Mount's future, as the Red Devils prepare for a crucial summer overhaul. Following their thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool on May 3rd, United have secured Champions League football for next season, but Neville insists that complacency is not an option.

Currently sitting third in the Premier League table with just three games remaining, United are gearing up for a transformative summer under INEOS. The club faces several key decisions, including appointing a permanent manager—with caretaker boss Michael Carrick emerging as the frontrunner—and reshaping the squad for a more demanding campaign ahead.

Neville, speaking on his podcast, emphasized the need for four priority additions to keep United competitive. "Michael Carrick will be very happy tonight, but I think he'll also be disappointed deep down that they didn't win 3-0 or 4-0," Neville said. "They should have killed that game and put Liverpool to sleep. He's won, and that's what matters, but Carrick won't be fooled by what he saw in the second half."

With Casemiro set to depart as a free agent this summer, midfield reinforcement is a pressing concern. But Neville believes the defense also needs urgent attention. "If you're going to play 4-4-2—and I'm massively in favor of that—you need two special players in midfield and defenders who can handle one-on-one situations," he explained. "United need a left-back, because Luke Shaw has played too much."

Last summer's transfer window was a resounding success for United, who brought in four new faces. Neville insists the club must replicate that strategy to build on their momentum and stay in the hunt for silverware next season. For fans and fashion-conscious supporters alike, this summer promises to be a defining chapter in United's revival—one where every signing could be the missing piece of the puzzle.
