Erik Lee Sr. and his son, quarterback Erik Lee Jr., hope to make an impact after changing schools from Lake Worth High to Park Vista.

In a move that's already turning heads across South Florida's high school football scene, Erik Lee Sr. and his son, quarterback Erik Lee Jr., have packed up their talents and headed west on Lake Worth Road—from Lake Worth High to Park Vista.

This isn't just any transfer; it's a father-son package deal that promises to shake up the competition. Erik Lee Sr., who served as head coach at Lake Worth High for the past two seasons, has stepped into the role of offensive coordinator at Park Vista. And coming along for the ride? His son, Erik Lee Jr., a rising senior quarterback who's ready to fill a major gap under center for the Cobras.

Standing 6-2 and weighing in at 220 pounds, the left-handed signal-caller brings a rare blend of size and skill. Last season, he led his district in total yards (1,790) and rushing yards (589)—numbers that made him a standout even while playing for Lake Worth, a rival school in the same district. Now, he's traded rivalries for a fresh start, though he won't be eligible to play in the May 14 spring game at Seminole Ridge due to transfer rules.

Park Vista head coach Donald Hanna isn't hiding his excitement. "Erik has all the tools to be one of the best 2027 quarterbacks in South Florida," Hanna said. "We're expecting big things from him this season."

So why the move? For the elder Lee, it came down to opportunity—both for his son and for himself. While he continues teaching history at Lake Worth High, he's now part of a coaching staff that's 12 or 13 deep, with dedicated freshman, JV, and varsity coaches. "It's a lot less on everyone's plate," Lee Sr. explained. "He didn't have a choice—he was going wherever I was. But he thought it was an opportunity where he could play. He was excited. So many more coaches, so much more instruction."

As for Erik Jr., he's all in. "He brought it up to me," the younger Lee said. "I said of course. Me and my father are on the same page with everything. It can't be best for him and not for me. And it can't be good for me and not good for him."

With spring practice already under his belt and a standout performance in last week's Black and Blue scrimmage, Erik Lee Jr. is proving he's ready to make an immediate impact. For Park Vista, this father-son duo might just be the spark that lights up the season.
