The Elite 11 Finals just got a little more Texas-sized. On Thursday, Spring Branch (Texas) Smithson Valley three-star quarterback Ty Knutson received his invitation to the prestigious event, set to take place in Los Angeles later this year. Knutson, who is already committed to the Texas Longhorns, earned his spot after a standout performance at the Elite 11 Regional in Dallas back in March.

Knutson joins Kamden Lopati as the 19th and 20th quarterbacks, respectively, to secure an invite to this year's Finals. For high school signal-callers, few honors carry more weight than earning a ticket to the Elite 11 Finals, which will mark its 27th anniversary in 2026. The event brings together 20 of the nation's top quarterbacks for three intense days of competition and training in Los Angeles each June.

The Elite 11 has a storied history of producing college and NFL stars, including Carson Palmer, Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, and Tim Tebow, as well as more recent standouts like Trevor Lawrence, C.J. Stroud, and Bryce Young. Last year's Finals featured 16 of the top 25 quarterbacks in the Rivals Industry Rankings, including five of the top six players at the position.

Knutson currently ranks No. 496 overall and No. 33 among quarterbacks in the Rivals Industry Rankings. He committed to the Texas Longhorns in February, choosing Austin over offers from Houston, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, TCU, and Texas A&M. With his invitation now official, all eyes will be on Knutson as he heads to Los Angeles to compete among the nation's elite.
