Wisconsin will face Denver in the Frozen Four final on Saturday, April 11, after the Badgers defeated No. 2 North Dakota in the semifinals.

The Wisconsin Badgers are heading to the national championship game, punching their ticket with a gritty 2-1 victory over the No. 2 North Dakota Fighting Hawks in a Frozen Four semifinal thriller in Las Vegas. A stunning 27-second offensive burst in the first period proved to be the difference, setting the stage for a dramatic final.

Freshman goaltender Daniel Hauser was the backbone of the win, turning aside 21 shots to outduel his North Dakota counterpart, Jan Spunar. The Badgers' defense was equally formidable, killing off all five penalties and limiting North Dakota's high-powered attack for most of the night.

The game's decisive sequence began late in the first period. At the 12:54 mark, Simon Tassy unleashed a sharp wrist shot from the right circle to open the scoring. Before the celebration had even settled, Ryan Botterill doubled the lead just 27 seconds later, capitalizing on a slick breakout pass from defenseman Ben Dexheimer.

North Dakota, which had been so dominant in its regional victories, fought valiantly to claw back. They finally broke Hauser's shutout bid with just 51.8 seconds remaining in regulation on a goal from Ellis Rickwood, but the Badgers held firm to secure the win.

With the victory, Wisconsin advances to face the Denver Pioneers in the Frozen Four final this Saturday. Denver earned its spot with a double-overtime win over No. 1 Michigan, setting up a classic championship clash. The Badgers now stand just one win away from capturing their seventh national title and their first since 2006.
