The sand is set, the sun is shining, and South America's finest are ready to battle for glory. The 2025 Copa Libertadores de América de Beach Soccer kicks off this Sunday, May 3, on the golden shores of Itapuã Beach in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo. Through May 10, 12 elite clubs from 10 different nations will compete for the continent's most coveted beach soccer crown.

This tournament, organized by CONMEBOL and held by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) in partnership with local federations, marks a triumphant return after last year's calendar-induced hiatus. And Brazil is bringing serious firepower. Three homegrown clubs—Vasco da Gama, Sampaio Corrêa, and newcomers Ceilândia-DF—will carry the nation's hopes of keeping the trophy on Brazilian soil.

Vasco da Gama enters as the tournament's most decorated club, a four-time champion hungry for another title. Their young, dynamic squad is led by proven winners like Bokinha, Jordan, and Breno Xavier—stars who know how to perform when the pressure is highest.

Sampaio Corrêa, runners-up in 2022, blends experience with emerging talent. Veterans like goalkeeper Bobô, Datinha, Bruno Xavier, and Eudin anchor the team, while rising stars Alisson, Gin, and Warlison bring fresh energy to the sand.

Ceilândia-DF may be the newcomers, but they're no underdogs. Captain Luís Henrique leads a squad packed with Brazilian National Team pedigree, including defender Paulo Marques and forward Fabrício. They're ready to prove they belong on this continental stage.

But Brazil isn't the only country loading up on talent. Paraguay's Sportivo Luqueño made the biggest splash in the transfer market, signing a trio of three-time world champions—Rodrigo, Catarino, and Mauricinho—alongside 2025 champion Benjamin Jr. and Sikinha, Brazil's U-20 all-time leading scorer. Their coaching staff includes Fabrício Santos, former head coach of Brazil's Women's National Team and current assistant to the Men's National Team.

Chile's Dávila also stacked its roster with world-class talent, adding Thanger, Antonio, and Lucão, plus Portuguese-Brazilian superstar Bê Martins—twice voted the Best Player in the World (2022 and 2024). This is a tournament where every match could produce magic.

With Brazil's rich beach soccer heritage and international stars scattered across the lineups, this year's Libertadores promises unforgettable action. Whether you're a die-hard fan or new to the sport, these 10 days on the sand are not to be missed. Grab your gear, find your spot on the beach, and get ready for South America's finest to make history.
