The Brooklyn Nets have the No. 6 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Would they choose Kingston Flemings over Darius Acuff Jr.?

With the NBA Draft still over two months away, the Brooklyn Nets are already facing some tough decisions at the No. 6 spot. After a disappointing end to their season, the front office is weighing every option—including the possibility of trading up. But if they stay put, the choice could come down to two dynamic guards: Houston's Kingston Flemings and Arkansas's Darius Acuff Jr.

In his latest mock draft for Yahoo! Sports, analyst Kevin O'Connor made a bold prediction, slotting Flemings to Brooklyn at No. 6. "Flemings plays with surgical midrange touch, an explosive first step, and passing vision of a true point guard who can run an offense," O'Connor noted. That kind of all-around skill set is hard to ignore, especially for a team looking to build around a young, versatile core.

But Flemings isn't without his question marks. "He is also 190 pounds, midrange-heavy in a 3-point league, and watched his efficiency crater against the stiffest competition late in the season," O'Connor added. The real test will be whether his scoring package can translate against NBA length and spacing—or if defenses will figure him out the same way they did down the stretch.

Meanwhile, Acuff Jr. offers a different kind of promise. Projected as an offensive engine with a high ceiling, he could be the kind of explosive scorer that transforms a team's attack. If the draft unfolds as many expect, with the Los Angeles Clippers (via the Indiana Pacers) taking Illinois guard Keaton Wagler at No. 5, the Nets will be left with a classic choice: a two-way floor general in Flemings or a potential scoring dynamo in Acuff.

It's a decision that carries extra weight given Brooklyn's recent draft history. The Nets selected four guards last year, including No. 8 pick Egor Demin, but the rookie class delivered mixed results. Still, with the buzz surrounding both Flemings and Acuff, general manager Sean Marks seems to be in a position where he can't go wrong—even if the choice won't be easy.
