After losing 64-28 to Coventry, Worcester Warriors need to up their physical intent in their play-off quarter-final says head coach Matt Everard.

After a disappointing 64-28 defeat to Coventry, Worcester Warriors are determined to bounce back in their play-off quarter-final against Chinnor on Saturday. Head coach Matt Everard didn't mince words, calling the performance an "unacceptable down" in their season—especially after conceding 45 second-half points and nine tries at the Butts Park Arena.

That loss marked Worcester's fourth straight defeat, leaving them fourth in the Championship table at the end of the regular season. "It was a poor performance, and we were very, very disappointed," Everard told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "I've never questioned our physical intent all season, but I did on Saturday. Coventry attacked very well, and we defended really poorly."

Everard admitted he didn't see the drop in intensity coming, but the team is eager to respond. "Progression isn't a straight line—there are always ups and downs. But Saturday was an unacceptable down. Performances like that hurt, and they should. Everyone, from the squad to the fans, is desperate to put it right this weekend."

Now, Worcester face a tough test against Chinnor at Sixways, a side that has beaten them twice this season. "They're a brilliant team with a strong set-piece, a dangerous kicking game, and an aggressive defence," Everard acknowledged. But with a semifinal spot on the line, the Warriors are ready to bring the physical intent that was missing last time out.
