The NCAA transfer portal has delivered a new piece to Lamont Paris's South Carolina puzzle, as Wisconsin forward Aleksas Bieliauskas has committed to the Gamecocks. After a single season in Madison, the 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward is heading south, bringing a coveted modern skill set to a program looking to rebuild.

Bieliauskas arrives with a promising profile. As a freshman for the Badgers, he averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds over 35 games, earning 28 starts. His most valuable asset is his ability to stretch the floor from the power forward spot, having connected on 34.6% of his 81 three-point attempts last season. This shooting touch will be crucial for a South Carolina offense that needs to create space.

His potential was on full display in a standout performance against Marquette, where he notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and 3-for-3 from deep. The Gamecocks will hope to unlock more of those efficient nights as they aim to improve upon a challenging 13-19 (4-14 SEC) campaign.

While his perimeter shooting is a plus, there are areas for growth, notably at the free-throw line where he shot 63.3%. He also showed glimpses of rim protection, recording 21 blocks. A former four-star recruit ranked No. 72 nationally by Rivals, Bieliauskas represents a significant addition for Coach Paris, who has deep ties to Wisconsin from his own time as an assistant there.

This move signals South Carolina's intent to add versatile, skilled size as they work to climb the competitive SEC ladder. For Gamecock fans, Bieliauskas offers a glimpse of a more dynamic frontcourt for the 2026-27 season.
