LSU head coach Will Wade appears poised to finally land a player he once coveted, as the Tigers emerge as a potential destination for coveted transfer Chance Westry. The four-star guard, originally from the Class of 2022, was recruited by Wade during his first stint at LSU but initially chose a different path.

Westry's collegiate journey has taken him through the SEC at Auburn, the ACC at Syracuse, and most recently, UAB in the American Athletic Conference. After entering the transfer portal, the 6'6" point guard is now one of the most intriguing names available, coming off a standout season where he averaged 15.7 points and a conference-leading 5.3 assists per game, earning Second-Team All-AAC honors.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Westry represents a major opportunity for Wade's LSU program. The Tigers, looking to make a splash in the competitive SEC, are expected to be aggressive in the NIL market to build a formidable roster. Securing a versatile, experienced guard like Westry would be a significant step in that direction.

While other programs, including a resurgent Nebraska, may also be in the mix, the existing relationship and LSU's pressing need for backcourt talent create a compelling narrative. For Westry, a move to Baton Rouge would bring his recruitment full circle, offering a chance to finally team up with the coach who believed in him years ago and to make an immediate impact in one of college basketball's premier conferences.
