His decision to transfer to Gonzaga brought him closer to home, where he used the 2024-25 season as a redshirt year before adapting to a reserve role this past season under Coach Mark Few.

Now, with proven playmaking ability and a desire for a larger opportunity, Smith represents a savvy potential target for Washington.
