Jove suggests that while Alonso has his factory HRC deal, his initial races might be with the LCR squad, following a path similar to other top riders who graduated from satellite teams. This would allow Honda to manage its talent pipeline carefully, with Moreira's contract also containing an option for promotion to the factory team. "David Alonso wants and is asking for that [factory] status, and Honda are giving it to him," Jove stated. "However, I have serious doubts that he will be in the factory team immediately."
