The Denver Broncos made a lot of picks down the board after not picking in the first two rounds following a string of trades. But they walked away with some decent players.
One of those players was seventh-round pick, Mister Irrelevant, Red Murdock. The Buffalo linebacker was the last pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, but there was a lot to like about this pick for the Broncos.
As ESPN's Matt Miller noted, Murdock was ranked inside the top-100 best picks of the entire draft as the best pick of any Round 7 pick in the entire draft this year.
"The last pick of the draft, Murdock was a 90-point value on the board and fills Denver's need for more depth at linebacker," Miller writes.
While there were plenty of intriguing picks in Round 7 this year, Miller believes that the Murdock pick was the best of the entire round.
He ranked Murdock's selection at pick No. 257 as the 75th best pick of the entire draft. He has a chance to start for Denver, and was someone who Miller ranked as the 167th prospect on his big board, and he went 90 picks later.

While only Jonah Coleman was ranked in Miller's top-100 best picks, coming in a few spots ahead of Murdock as Miller's 73rd best pick of the entire draft, the best pick in Round 7 goes to the very last pick of the round and the entire draft.
After Murdock had 142 tackles, five sacks, and six forced fumbles last year for Buffalo, the Broncos were able to get a steal in Round 7 by taking someone who could've gone two rounds earlier.
Murdock was Miller's highest-ranked pick from the seventh round this year, as the last pick of the round was the best. "Mister Irrelevant" might not be irrelevant for the Broncos in 2026 and beyond at all.
