The Jacksonville Jaguars selected defensive tackle Albert Regis with their second pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. At 81st overall, Regis' selection addressed one of Jacksonville's biggest needs on defense.

Regis has predominantly been used to stop the run, where he thrived. The Jaguars' run defense was already among the best in the league, and Regis will surely bolster it even further. He doesn't have much in terms of pass rush production, but Regis' impact goes beyond the stat sheet with his ability to clog running lanes and take on blockers, helping to create for others.

Jacksonville may ultimately see Regis as more of a long-term prospect with potential, rather than an immediate playmaker. DaVon Hamilton is in the final year of his contract, and until then, he will likely be a solid and reliable tackle, if not a spectacular one.

"Fifth-year senior with two years as a starter, Regis is built low, with girthy lowers and shorter arms. He’s a leverage monster who can function as a tree stump in the middle of the defense when he’s first in with his hands. He can post and peek as a two-gapper or drop low to fight off double-teams. He plays with good balance and is technically sound in block take-ons/disengagements. His rush is unimpressive and his lack of length will cause issues at times, but he’s tough, strong and consistent. Regis should become a run-stopping factor as a nose tackle." - Lance Zierlein

"To this point in his college career, Regis has been a consistency-over-impact type of player. He presents a high floor of nose tackle play with good size, flexibility and leverage. He isn't the most explosive or violent, and because of that, we haven't seen a ton of backfield production. But, he is where he needs to be with a good understanding of techniques and defensive line principles that can make him a depth NFL player in any scheme." - Trevor Sikkema
