The Washington Huskies could pursue a productive member of Texas Tech's roster in the transfer portal.

As head coach Danny Sprinkle enters his third season at Washington, retooling the roster with physicality and toughness is a clear priority. The transfer portal offers a prime opportunity, and a compelling new target has emerged: Texas Tech forward LeJuan Watts.

Watts, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound junior, is coming off a productive season in Lubbock, averaging 11.8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. His efforts helped propel the Red Raiders to the NCAA Tournament's Round of 32. While he is testing the NBA draft waters, his portal ranking—No. 26 overall and the No. 4 small forward by Rivals—makes him a highly coveted asset for any program looking to bolster its frontcourt.

Interestingly, the Huskies may have a unique recruiting edge. Watts's brother, former Sacramento State defensive tackle DeSean Watts, transferred to Washington's football program this past offseason. This family connection to Montlake could be a significant factor, especially after the Huskies missed out on landing LeJuan a year ago.

Washington's need for a reliable wing is evident. Last season, the team invested in transfers Desmond Claude and Bryson Tucker, but both were hampered by injuries that limited their impact and availability. With guards Zoom Diallo, JJ Mandaquit, and Courtland Muldrew already entering the portal, Coach Sprinkle is actively seeking to rebuild and add consistent scoring and defensive presence.

Landing a player of Watts's caliber would be a major win. His proven scoring, rebounding, and tournament experience would immediately address Washington's need for toughness and provide a steady, high-level option on the wing as the Huskies look to compete in a revamped Big Ten conference.
