The college basketball transfer portal is officially open, and Villanova is moving fast. The Wildcats have scheduled their first official visit, setting their sights on a major target to bolster their frontcourt.

Oregon big man Kwame Evans Jr. will be on campus this week, according to multiple reports. The 6-foot-10 junior is expected to be one of the most sought-after players in the portal, currently ranked as the No. 26 overall transfer by 247Sports and the sixth-rated power forward available.

Evans brings a proven track record from his three seasons with the Ducks. This past year, he averaged an impressive 13.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, notching four double-doubles. A former four-star prospect and the top-ranked player in Florida coming out of powerhouse Montverde Academy, Evans has the size and skill to make an immediate impact.

While he is expected to test the waters for the 2026 NBA Draft, Evans has maintained his college eligibility, making this visit crucial for Villanova's rebuilding efforts.

The Wildcats have a clear need in the paint. Starting center Duke Brennan has exhausted his eligibility, and backup Braden Pierce has entered the transfer portal, leaving significant gaps in the frontcourt. Securing a commitment from a player of Evans's caliber would be a major offseason win for Kyle Neptune's squad as they look to compete in the tough Big East.
