Valtteri Bottas has ruled out a return to Coachella after admitting the busy festival “wasn’t my thing”

Valtteri Bottas has given a refreshingly honest verdict on his Coachella experience—and it's safe to say the Finnish driver won't be trading in his racing helmet for a festival wristband anytime soon.

The Cadillac Formula 1 star made a surprise appearance at the iconic Indio music festival during the five-week break between the Japanese and Miami Grands Prix. Headlined by pop sensations Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber, the event draws massive crowds—and that's exactly what Bottas couldn't get behind.

Spotted enjoying the festival alongside former Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo, Bottas quickly shut down any envy when a reporter at the Miami Grand Prix mentioned they were jealous of his "Coachella adventure."

"Don't be," Bottas replied with a wry smile. "It wasn't my thing. Too many people, man. Too many people. I'm glad I went, but I'm not going back."

For a driver who thrives on the precision and focus of race weekends, it's no surprise that the influencer-heavy, bustling atmosphere didn't quite hit the mark. But Bottas had plenty more to focus on as he prepared for the Miami Grand Prix—the second sprint race of the season.

Bottas joined the Cadillac F1 team in 2026 alongside former Red Bull star Sergio Perez. As the American outfit navigates its debut championship season, it currently sits 10th in the standings, ahead of only Aston Martin. But the Finn sees promise on the horizon.

"In the first three races, I felt like every race weekend was getting smoother and smoother," Bottas told media ahead of the Miami race. "We had less and less issues. So expecting a good step this weekend. It's a sprint weekend, so we have to be on it from the get-go."

With just one practice session before sprint qualifying—though extended to 90 minutes instead of the usual 60—Bottas and the Cadillac team are keeping their eyes firmly on the track. After all, that's where the real action happens, even if it means skipping the festival circuit for good.
