The USC Trojans women's basketball program has made its first major move of the offseason, securing a commitment from transfer portal guard Ryann Bennett. The former UC Davis standout announced her decision to join the Trojans, marking a significant addition for head coach Lindsay Gottlieb's roster.

Bennett, a 5-foot-8 guard, brings proven production and experience to Los Angeles. As a sophomore at UC Davis, she started all 34 games, leading the Aggies with 15.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 54 steals per game, earning Second-Team All-Big West honors. She will have two years of remaining eligibility.

This move also represents a homecoming for the Long Beach native and a reunion with former Cal Sparks EYBL teammate Kennedy Smith, adding instant backcourt chemistry. Bennett's scoring punch and playmaking will be a valuable asset for a team with championship aspirations.

Her commitment arrives as USC assembles what could be a historic roster. The Trojans boast the nation's top-ranked 2026 recruiting class and welcome back reigning National Freshman of the Year Jazzy Davidson. The most anticipated return, however, is that of superstar JuJu Watkins, who is set to return after missing the entire 2025-26 season recovering from an ACL injury.

With Bennett's arrival bolstering an already formidable lineup, the Trojans are firmly positioned as preseason favorites to contend for the 2027 national championship, aiming to build on their second-round NCAA Tournament exit this past season.
