USC MBB Acquires Two More Transfer Guards in Portal

USC men's basketball is making serious moves this offseason, adding two more dynamic guards from the transfer portal on Thursday. The Trojans have secured commitments from South Dakota's Issac Bruns and Lindenwood's Jadis Jones, bolstering a backcourt that's quickly becoming one of the most intriguing in the Pac-12.

Bruns, a 6-foot-5 guard, brings one season of NCAA eligibility and a scoring touch that turned heads across the Summit League. As a junior during the 2025-26 season, he averaged an impressive 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. His shooting efficiency was elite—44.7% from the field and 39.2% from beyond the arc over 20 games. Before a season-ending foot injury in January, Bruns was the Summit League's leading scorer and ranked 15th nationally in points per game. That kind of firepower could be a game-changer for USC's offense.

Jones, meanwhile, arrives with two seasons of eligibility and a resume that screams upside. The 6-foot-5 sophomore spent two years at Lindenwood, where he quickly became a star in the Ohio Valley Conference. As a freshman in 2024-25, he was named OVC Rookie of the Year. Last season, he earned First Team All-OVC honors after averaging 15.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists across 28 games. Jones led the conference in field goal percentage (57.4%) and ranked second in rebounding. He also set a Lindenwood Division I program record with 10 double-doubles this season, showcasing his versatility and motor.

These additions are part of a major roster overhaul for the Trojans. With Bruns and Jones in the fold, USC now has seven new transfers on the roster for next season, including Jalen Cox, Joshua Hughes, Aaron Hunkin-Claytor, KJ Lewis, and Eric Reibe. The infusion of talent signals a clear intent to compete at a high level, and fans have plenty of reason to be excited about what this revamped squad can do.
