The Arizona Cardinals didn't just stock up on draft picks last month—they also added seven undrafted rookies to the roster. While most of these names fly under the radar, history shows that undrafted free agents can become diamonds in the rough, carving out impressive NFL careers.
One analyst believes the Cardinals might have found exactly that kind of gem. Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic recently highlighted one rookie free agent per team who could make a real impact, and for Arizona, he's betting on wide receiver Harrison Wallace III.
Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 192 pounds, Wallace is a well-rounded Z receiver who projects as a natural slot option at the NFL level. His 2024 season at Penn State and 2025 campaign at Ole Miss turned heads, as he proved to be a fearless, quarterback-friendly target who isn't afraid to go across the middle. Beyond his receiving skills, Wallace could also contribute on special teams as a punt returner—an area where the Cardinals lost Greg Dortch in free agency.
That special teams value could be his ticket to the roster. The Cardinals' wide receiver room is in a state of flux behind their top three: Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Kendrick Bourne. They've also added Devin Duvernay and brought back Simi Fehoko, creating a competitive battle for depth spots.
Training camp kicks off near the end of July, and all eyes will be on Wallace to see if he can stand out among the crowd. If his college tape is any indication, this undrafted rookie might just be the surprise of the summer for Arizona.
