Matlekovic's lone season with the Tar Heels was unfortunately defined by a limited role and injury. He appeared in just four games, totaling seven minutes of action, before a hand injury sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign in January. His sole basket for UNC came during a blowout victory over East Carolina in December.
