The Tennessee Lady Vols volleyball program just got a major defensive boost. Kansas transfer libero Raegan Burns has officially signed with the team, bringing a wealth of experience and a winning pedigree to Knoxville.
Standing at 5-foot-5, the libero and defensive specialist made her mark with the Jayhawks from 2023 to 2025, appearing in 218 sets across 61 matches. During her three seasons at Kansas, Burns racked up impressive numbers: 756 digs, 246 assists, and 31 aces—stats that highlight her ability to control the backcourt and fuel the offense.
Tennessee head coach Eve Rackham Watt couldn't hide her excitement about the newest addition to the roster. "We are thrilled to welcome Raegan Burns to our Lady Vol volleyball program," Rackham Watt said. "She is a player with tremendous experience at a very high level and has won a lot of matches in her career. We believe she is an elite serve receiver with great defensive instincts. Our staff is excited to have her join us this summer and believe she will continue to develop in our program."
Burns isn't just a college standout—she's a proven winner from her high school days at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Indiana. There, she led her team to four conference championships, two regional titles, one semi-state championship, and a state title, showcasing the kind of championship mentality that translates to the collegiate level.
As the Lady Vols continue to build for the future, adding a player of Burns' caliber could be the key to elevating their defensive game. Fans can expect to see her in action this summer as she integrates into the program and looks to make an immediate impact on the court.
