The Texas A&M Aggies have made a savvy late addition to their roster, signing running back DD Murray from the transfer portal. The move, first reported by Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, bolsters an already promising backfield as the team prepares for another competitive season.

Murray, who spent his freshman year at Arkansas State, brings a blend of power and versatility to College Station. After redshirting with the Red Wolves, he appeared in three games without recording any stats, leaving him with four years of eligibility. But don't let that quiet start fool you—this Bellville, Texas native was a standout in high school, rushing for an eye-popping 3,935 yards and 65 touchdowns over 29 games. That's an average of 9.2 yards per carry and over 100 yards per game.

What makes Murray especially intriguing is his ability to contribute in multiple phases. Beyond his work on the ground, he hauled in 17 passes for 447 yards and eight touchdowns in high school. He also showed his value as a return specialist, taking both a punt and a kickoff back for scores as a senior. For a team looking to add depth and playmaking, Murray fits the bill.

He joins a running back room that already includes four-star signees KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker, giving head coach Mike Elko a trio of fresh legs to work with. Last season, the Aggies averaged a solid 4.8 yards per carry on their way to a College Football Playoff appearance, and Murray's addition only strengthens that ground attack.

Ranked as a three-star prospect coming out of high school, Murray was listed as the No. 2,674 overall player and No. 188 running back in the 247Sports composite rankings. While he hasn't yet been ranked as a transfer, his pedigree and versatility suggest he could be a valuable piece in Texas A&M's backfield rotation for years to come.
