Rick Barnes was waiting for this.

Rick Barnes has been waiting for this moment, and now it's finally here. One of the biggest names in the transfer portal, Juke Harris, has made his decision—and Tennessee Volunteers fans have every reason to celebrate.

After a lengthy and highly anticipated recruitment process, the dynamic 6-foot-7, 200-pound sophomore has committed to the Vols. ESPN's Jeff Borzello broke the news on Monday morning, calling it "another massive add—and even more offense—for Rick Barnes' portal haul."

Harris, who spent the 2025-26 season at Wake Forest, was one of the most sought-after players in the portal for good reason. He put up impressive numbers, averaging 21.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. While his 33% shooting from beyond the arc on 7.5 attempts per game might not jump off the page, his high-volume production and ability to create space make him a dangerous offensive weapon—especially on a team like Tennessee that can generate better looks.

Isaac Trotter of CBS Sports broke down Harris's game earlier this offseason, noting, "The 6-foot-7, 200-pound sophomore can operate as a dangerous off-movement shooter who showed his feel for the game as a cutter, slasher, rebounder and secondary creator. Harris can play in pick-and-rolls, but he's most dangerous off the ball. His counting stats will likely go down next year, but the all-around impact will be clear as day."

For Barnes and the Volunteers, landing a player of Harris's caliber this late in the portal cycle is a major win. It reinforces Tennessee's reputation as a program that consistently competes at the highest level and keeps the standard high. With Harris in the fold, the Vols' offense just got a whole lot more exciting—and their fans have every reason to be optimistic about what's ahead.
