Taylor Gardner transfers to Iowa State

Big news in the college soccer world: Taylor Gardner, a standout goalkeeper, is bringing her talents to Iowa State. After spending the last two seasons at Grand Canyon University, the St. Louis native announced her commitment to the Cyclones' program this past Monday, marking a major addition to their roster.

Standing at 5-foot-9, Gardner brings both size and skill to the net. During the 2025 season, she appeared in three matches, recording five saves on 13 shots faced while allowing just one goal. Her ability to command the box and make crucial stops will be a welcome boost for Iowa State's defense.

But Gardner's journey to the Cyclones is rooted in a stellar high school career. A four-year starter at Whitfield High School, she was a three-time All-State Goalkeeper of the Year. She capped off her prep career in style, leading Whitfield to a 3-0 state championship victory over St. Pius X (Festus) in 2022. That championship pedigree is something she'll look to bring to Ames.

Beyond high school, Gardner honed her skills with St. Louis Scott Gallagher in the Elite Club National League (ECNL), where she helped her team secure a pair of national titles. That experience competing at the highest youth level has prepared her for the challenges of Division I soccer. For Cyclones fans, this commitment signals a bright future between the posts.
