Stewart Cink is making the 2026 PGA Tour Champions season his personal highlight reel. After winning the season's first major, he's now captured the Regions Tradition, completing a back-to-back major sweep that has the golf world buzzing.
Entering Sunday's final round at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama, Cink held a comfortable three-shot lead. But the chase was far from over. Colin Montgomerie, showing flashes of his old form, trimmed the deficit to just two strokes near the turn. However, Cink answered with birdies on the 11th and 12th holes, pushing his lead back to four.
Just when it seemed Cink was cruising, Scott Hend made his move. A Cink bogey on the 14th dropped him to 17 under par, while Hend caught fire with a stunning stretch: a birdie at No. 10, an eagle at No. 13, and back-to-back birdies at Nos. 14 and 17. Suddenly, the lead was down to two shots.
But champions find a way. Cink, showing the composure of a seasoned veteran, responded with a clutch birdie at No. 15 to reach 18 under par. Hend could only manage a par on the final hole, and Cink cruised home for a three-shot victory at 18 under par.
The win marks Cink's fourth victory of the 2026 season and his eighth career PGA Tour Champions title—matching his total from his entire PGA Tour career. It's a remarkable resurgence for the 52-year-old, who seems to be playing some of the best golf of his life.
Notable finishes included Ernie Els (T8, 10 under), Padraig Harrington and Steven Alker (T11, 9 under), and Justin Leonard (T28, 4 under). But the day belonged to Cink, who continues to prove that age is just a number when you have the right swing—and the right mindset.
