It was a weekend to remember for Calvary softball—and for head coach Tiffany Wood, it was nothing short of historic.
The celebration kicked off Saturday as Wood celebrated her 37th birthday in style, watching her team power past D’Arbonne Woods 12-2 in the LHSAA Select Division III semifinals. But the Lady Cavaliers weren't done yet.
On Sunday, Calvary (37-1) capped off an unforgettable run with a commanding 5-1 victory over Parkview Baptist in the championship game. The win wasn’t just another trophy—it marked Wood’s 400th career victory, her sixth consecutive state title, and the program’s eighth overall championship.
“Winning six in a row and eight total feels amazing,” Wood said. “Seeing this senior class go out as state champions and seeing all they have worked for pay off is such a blessing. This group of girls, Team 22, works hard and works together.”
The championship run showcased everything that makes Calvary softball special: dominant pitching, timely hitting, and an unshakable team chemistry. For a program that has set the standard in Louisiana high school softball, this sixth straight title cements their legacy as one of the most dominant dynasties in recent memory.
From birthday celebrations to milestone victories, it was a championship weekend that will be talked about for years to come.
