Rangers left-back Tuur Rommens has sent a clear message ahead of Sunday's massive Scottish Premiership clash with Celtic: the Gers will go "full force" in their bid to keep Champions League dreams alive.
The Ibrox side head to Parkhead knowing that defeat would mathematically end their hopes of qualifying for Europe's elite competition next season, locking them into third place. Currently sitting four points behind Celtic and seven adrift of league leaders Hearts with just three matches remaining, the stakes couldn't be higher.
"I don't know if we can replicate our first-half performance against Hearts for the full match, but we go in full force and of course we think we can take something there," Rommens said, referencing the 1-0 lead Rangers held before ultimately losing to Hearts.
"It's a big stadium, great atmosphere, and of course it's a derby, so it will be intense. Whether you play Celtic or another team, it's always about the next game. For the supporters, for ourselves, for the club, this is a big one on Sunday. We need to win for that Champions League place."
The Belgian defender emphasized the importance of finishing the season strongly, saying: "It's a big thing to finish this season in a good way. Just win these three games and get the belief for next year. Go full on next year."
Rommens also addressed the pressure surrounding head coach Danny Rohl, who has faced criticism after back-to-back defeats to Motherwell and Hearts. "Yes, for sure, the squad is fully behind him," Rommens insisted. "It's been intense. The result against Hearts was not good, everybody knows that. But the mentality in this group is great. We have no issues with that. I don't think it's about mentality—maybe a little bit of focus, but not mentality."
With Champions League qualification and Old Firm bragging rights on the line, Sunday's showdown promises to be a defining moment in Rangers' season. The message from the dressing room is clear: full force, no excuses.
