The Seattle Seahawks have a new running back that they're excited about.
They used the No. 32 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft -- the final pick of the first round -- on Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price.
And with Price aboard, they've released Cam Akers, a two-time Super Bowl champion RB who is now just bouncing around the NFL as a depth piece.

Akers didn't play any offensive snaps in three regular season games with Seattle in 2025, and then he got into just one playoff game as the Seahawks made a run to the Super Bowl.
Akers has also suited up for the Vikings and the Texans in the NFL.
The former second-round pick once had a lot of promise, but injuries sapped some of his ability, and he clearly isn't an overly believed-in player at this point.
The Seahawks have plenty of running backs on the roster.
Kenneth Walker left for the Chiefs, but Zach Charbonnet returns. They also signed the intriguing Emanuel Wilson from the Packers.
The likes of George Holani and Kenny McIntosh are still under contract with the Seahawks at the moment, too.
Akers will look for his next opportunity, but Seattle likely won't miss him.
