Rory McIlroy is on top of the golf world once again after his incredible display at the 2026 Masters, but his daughter Poppy is stealing the show at Augusta as well.
The Northern Irishman captured his second straight Masters title on Sunday after winning a season ago. However, McIlroy’s special moment after winning the back-to-back championships at Augusta National looks very similar to 2025.

McIlroy was spotted with his daughter Poppy near the final hole after locking up the title Sunday evening. The father-daughter duo shared a sentimental moment that comes after incredible efforts in back-to-back seasons at the iconic golf course.

This year, McIlroy jumped out to an incredible 12-under par score after the opening two rounds at the Masters. That included holding a six-shot lead over the field heading into Round 3 at Augusta.
However, the 36 year old star gave himself some jitters during the final two days of play. McIlroy even succumbed to a massive double bogey during the final round that opened the door for other competitors.
McIlroy is now one of only several players to ever capture two consecutive Masters titles in a row. Tiger Woods’ heroics in 2001 and 2002 marked the last time a player had accomplished the feat prior to McIlroy.

Meanwhile, the Northern Ireland standout now boasts six major championships, which is tied for 12th all-time. Jack Nicklaus, Woods and Arnold Palmer are some of golf’s greats that sit above McIlroy with major titles.
McIlroy did reveal a secret to the media ahead of winning his second green jacket at Augusta, though. The PGA Tour told reporters that he made several day trips to Georgia to practice the course prior to the tournament.
“I honestly just don’t like the three tournaments leading up to this event,” McIlroy said after Round 2. “I’d rather come up here … I did a couple of days where I dropped Poppy to school, flew up here, played, landed back home and had dinner with her or had dinner with Erica.”
McIlroy even skipped out on some other PGA Tour events in order to practice the famed Augusta course.
