Arizona men's basketball is building a formidable frontcourt for the 2026-27 season, and the latest addition brings both talent and intrigue. The Wildcats have signed Ugnius Jarusevicius, a 6-foot-11 senior forward transferring from Nebraska, adding an experienced big man with a standout scoring pedigree—though his journey has been marked by injuries.

Jarusevicius, a native of Alytus, Lithuania, was a star at Central Michigan before heading to the Cornhuskers for the 2025-26 season. At Central Michigan, he dominated the Mid-American Conference, averaging 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 53.7% from the field and 71.8% from the free-throw line. His scoring ranked fifth in the MAC, and he also knocked down 31% of his three-point attempts (22-of-71), showing versatility for a player his size.

However, his time at Nebraska was cut short by a lingering back injury that limited him to just one game. This adds to a history of health setbacks—Jarusevicius also missed half of his freshman season at Cal State Bakersfield due to an ankle issue. Despite these concerns, he passed a physical during his visit to Arizona last week, according to Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority, easing some doubts about his durability.

Jarusevicius brings international experience, having competed for Lithuania's youth national team and spent two years in the NKL, the country's second-tier professional league. He'll join a proud tradition of Lithuanian big men under head coach Tommy Lloyd, following in the footsteps of Motiejus Krivas and Azuolas Tubelis.

This signing marks the sixth addition to Arizona's 2026-27 roster and the second frontcourt pickup in as many weeks, following Dutch forward Endurance Aiyamenkhue. The Wildcats also return Mabil Mawut, giving them depth in the paint. With two roster spots still open, there's hope that one could go to Koa Peat, who has until May 27 to withdraw from the NBA Draft.
