After taking Ty Simpson in the first round, the Rams had to wait until No. 61 overall to make their next selection. It was the 29th pick in the second round, and they went back to the offense. They selected Ohio State tight end Max Klare, bolstering a position that's already impressively deep.

Klare caught 43 passes for 448 yards and two touchdowns last season after hauling in 51 passes for 685 yards and four scores in 2024. The 6-foot-5, 243-pound tight end was a weapon for a loaded Buckeyes team last season and the Rams hope he can become a key contributor for them, too.

Klare was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection last season, playing on a stacked offense that had a lot of mouths to feed, including Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith. He was third on the team in receiving yards behind those two superstar wideouts.

The Rams were already deep at tight end, boasting Tyler Higbee, Terrance Ferguson, Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen on the depth chart. Klare makes that five important players, which is a strong sign that Sean McVay is committed to his 13 personnel strategy.
