Cornerback remains a position the Los Angeles Rams could target in the draft this weekend, even after adding Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. Sean McVay hinted at the Rams adding more cornerback depth in the draft when he said they're "always looking to add" to the secondary, and D'Angelo Ponds could be a Day 2 target for Los Angeles.

In an interview with SI's Justin Melo, Ponds confirmed the Rams flew out to Bloomington, Indiana, to meet with him before the draft. The Rams don't host prospects on top-30 visits like other teams, but they do sometimes travel to meet with players – and Ponds was one of those players.

"I went to Indianapolis, Miami, and Dallas for visits with the Colts, Dolphins, and Cowboys," he said. "The Los Angeles Rams came to visit me in person in Bloomington [Indiana].

"I believe I met with all 32 NFL teams in some capacity. I met with the Houston Texans, New York Giants, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, and Las Vegas Raiders virtually, to name a few. My final Zoom was with the New Orleans Saints."

Ponds is one of the top cornerbacks in the class after being a standout defender for the national champion Hoosiers last season. He's only 5-foot-9 but he has 4.31 speed and jumped 43.5 inches in the vertical. Athleticism isn't a question with the fiesty cornerback. It's simply his size.

Despite being shorter, Ponds has the ability to play in the slot or on the outside. The Rams could use help at both spots and though it's unclear where they would envision him playing, they're always open to finding the best fit for a given player's skill set.
