It looks like people really like what the Green Bay Packers were able to do with their first two selections of the 2026 NFL Draft. And based on general manager Brian Gutekunst’s comments after Friday’s action, don’t be surprised if the Packers move up into the early fourth round on Saturday to make their next selection.

Below are a couple of mid-draft grades that have been handed out for the Packers’ picks. We’ll get a lot more analysts in the mix after the draft, when writers dump evaluations on the full draft, but here’s what a couple of publications thought of Green Bay’s selections of cornerback Brandon Cisse, with the 52nd overall pick, and defensive tackle Chris McClellan, whom the Packers traded up for in the 77th slot.

Both of the Packers’ first two picks came off the board in line with Renner’s prospect rankings, so there are no qualms to be had with the value they found in Brandon Cisse and Chris McClellan, both of whom fill defensive needs.

Cisse is still just 20 years old, so the Packers have plenty of time to mold him into the kind of cornerback they want. Renner raved about the fit, noting that Green Bay tasks its corners with heavy off-zone coverage, which is Cisse’s strength. That’s a pretty nice pick for a team that had to wait until the 50s to make its first selection.

Overall, not bad. The Athletic liked the Cisse selection more than the McClellan trade-up, but that’s really the only variation. It seems like fans like the Cisse pick more than McClellan, too, as 87 percent of APC voters gave the Cisse pick either an A or B grade, while only 51 percent of APC voters gave those grades for the McClellan pick.
