Ohio State's recruiting machine is firing on all cylinders, and the buzz around Columbus is growing louder by the day. Following a string of recent successes—including a fresh commitment in the 2027 class earlier this week—the Buckeyes are proving once again why they're considered an NFL factory. Top-tier talent from across the country is taking notice, and the coaching staff is wasting no time capitalizing on the momentum.
While the offensive line has been a major focus this offseason, Ohio State's recruiting efforts extend well beyond the current cycle. Offensive line coach Tyler Bowen has been particularly effective, locking in multiple commitments over the past few weeks and keeping the best in-state prospects at home. With much of the groundwork for 2027 already laid, the Buckeyes are now turning their attention to the 2028 class, and new names are beginning to emerge on the radar.
One of the latest to catch Ohio State's eye is California native Austin Attalah, a towering 6-foot-8, 270-pound offensive tackle. Ranked as the No. 27 player nationally and the third-best at his position per the 247Sports Composite, Attalah already holds over 20 offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas. Now, the Buckeyes join that elite list. As with any recruitment, the next step will be getting Attalah on campus to make a lasting impression.
On the offensive side of the ball, Ohio State has also extended an offer to New Jersey tight end Quinn Weber. At 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, Weber is a younger prospect who has yet to be ranked by 247Sports, but his stock is rising quickly. After early interest from Duke and West Virginia, the Buckeyes and SMU have joined the race, signaling that Weber's potential is catching the attention of college scouts nationwide.
With a Friday commitment looming, all eyes are on whether Ohio State will add another quarterback to its 2027 class. For now, the Buckeyes continue to build for the future, one offer at a time.
