The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are making serious moves this offseason, adding their seventh new player to the roster. The latest addition? Northern Colorado transfer forward Ring Nyeri, a versatile 6-foot-8 talent who brings a blend of athleticism and shooting touch to Winston-Salem.
Nyeri isn't just another body in the frontcourt—he's a proven producer at the college level. Last season with the Bears, he averaged 8.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1 block per game, while shooting an efficient 54% from the field and a respectable 35% from three-point range. Those numbers earned him top-10 finishes in the Big Sky in rebounds, offensive boards, blocks, and two-point field goal percentage. He posted 13 double-figure scoring games and six double-digit rebound performances, with a season highlight of 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting against Eastern Washington.
Originally a three-star recruit ranked No. 192 in the 2024 class by 247Sports, Nyeri spent his freshman season at UMKC before transferring to Northern Colorado. Now, he's taking another step up in competition. At a listed weight under 200 pounds, he'll need to hit the weight room hard to hold his own against the physical play of the ACC. But his lanky frame, athleticism, and catch-and-shoot ability from deep make him an intriguing piece for the Deacs' rotation.
Wake Forest fans should be excited about the depth this addition brings—and how it sets the stage for an even more competitive season ahead.
