The Michigan State hockey program faced a complete overhaul in the crease this offseason, needing to replace both departing goaltenders. The first piece of that puzzle was already in place with incoming commit Joshua Ravensbergen. Now, the Spartans have secured a crucial second piece, adding valuable experience through the transfer portal.
Michigan State has landed a commitment from former Northeastern goaltender Quentin Sigurdson. The move solidifies the Spartans' goaltending depth chart as they prepare for the upcoming season.
A native of Sartell, Minnesota, Sigurdson brings collegiate experience to East Lansing. Over the past two seasons with the Huskies, he appeared in 10 games, posting a solid .920 save percentage and a 2.46 goals-against average, including one shutout. His proven ability at the NCAA level will be a major asset for a Michigan State team rebuilding its last line of defense.
For Spartan fans and players alike, securing a reliable netminder is a foundational move. A strong goaltending tandem provides confidence for the entire team, from defensemen blocking shots to forwards driving offensive plays. This addition marks a significant step in stabilizing the roster for another competitive run.
