Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has agreed to terms of a new contract at the Old Trafford club, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Red Devils academy graduate has extended his deal until June 2031 and an official announcement could take place this week. Mainoo has rediscovered himself under Man United manager Michael Carrick after struggling for regular playing opportunities under Ruben Amorim.

The 21-year-old considered leaving the club last summer and during the January transfer window, but he has become a key player again and is expected to go to the World Cup with England in the summer. He has now been rewarded with an improved deal and his performances in the 2-1 victory over Brentford last night reminded everyone of his quality.

Mainoo is one of the best players at Man United and losing him because of Amorim’s mismanagement would have been a huge blow.
