Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers have been busy reshaping their roster through the transfer portal, and the results are turning heads. After losing star guard Flau'Jae Johnson to the WNBA and seeing starting point guard Jada Richard and key reserve Bella Hines depart via the portal, the Tigers needed reinforcements—especially in the backcourt and the paint. Mulkey, as always, delivered.
She's no stranger to striking gold in the portal. Remember when she brought in Angel Reese ahead of LSU's first national championship run? Or Aneesah Morrow before the 2023-24 season? Both are now thriving in the WNBA. Last year, she added Kate Koval, who brought much-needed agility and size inside. Now, with the core of Mikaylah Williams (likely in her final season), MiLaysia Fulwiley, Grace Knox, ZaKiyah Johnson, and Koval all returning for year two, the Tigers have a solid foundation. But Mulkey knew they needed more.
Enter the transfer class for the 2026-27 season. Here's a look at every newcomer headed to Baton Rouge.
Jalynn Williams (Iowa State)
This might be Mulkey's biggest splash yet. After Richard transferred to Ole Miss, LSU desperately needed a floor general. Williams steps right in. The rising senior was an All-Big 12 first-team selection, averaging 15.3 points, 7.7 assists (top five nationally), and 3.5 rebounds per game. Her 246 assists also ranked in the national top five. A McDonald's All-American, she brings elite playmaking and leadership—exactly what the Tigers needed to run the show.
Alexa Reynolds (Florida)
Reynolds arrives after three seasons with the Gators, where she started 97 of 98 games. The rising senior guard averaged 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 43% from the field. At six-foot-one, she brings serious size to LSU's backcourt—a huge asset in the rugged SEC. A former McDonald's All-American herself, Reynolds has the shooting confidence and experience to make an immediate impact.
With these additions, LSU's backcourt looks deeper, more experienced, and ready to compete at the highest level. For Tigers fans, the message is clear: Kim Mulkey isn't just reloading—she's building another powerhouse.
