LSU women's basketball and head coach Kim Mulkey have secured a major backcourt addition for the upcoming season. Former Iowa State standout and All-Big 12 point guard Jada Williams has committed to the Tigers via the transfer portal.
Williams, who began her collegiate career at Arizona before a standout season with the Cyclones, brings elite playmaking to Baton Rouge. In her lone season at Iowa State, she averaged an impressive 15.3 points per game and led the entire Big 12 conference with 7.7 assists per contest, showcasing her dual-threat capability as a scorer and facilitator.
Coach Mulkey expressed clear excitement about the acquisition, stating, "Jada is a veteran point guard who is more than ready to run the show here in Baton Rouge. She has the ability to create opportunities for teammates but also score at all three levels. Jada plays with an infectious energy that Tiger fans will love."
Beyond her on-court prowess, Williams is a significant figure in the modern NIL landscape, ranking among the top earners in women's college basketball. Her substantial social media presence, with hundreds of thousands of followers across platforms like Instagram and TikTok, brings a new level of visibility and marketability to the LSU program.
This move comes as LSU looks to build on its championship pedigree, and Williams's experience and dynamic skill set will be crucial in orchestrating the Tigers' high-powered offense for the season ahead.
