After 17 unforgettable years, Everton captain Seamus Coleman has announced he will hang up his boots at the end of the season, bringing a remarkable playing career at Goodison Park to a close. The 37-year-old right-back, who joined the Toffees from Sligo Rovers in 2009, leaves as a club legend—holding the record for the most Premier League appearances (372) and amassing 433 total outings, just one shy of cracking the top 10 in Everton's all-time list.

Injuries have taken their toll in recent seasons, limiting the Republic of Ireland captain to just 23 appearances over the last three campaigns. But his impact on and off the pitch has been immense, having led the team as skipper 140 times. Everton have offered Coleman a coaching role to stay within the club, though he's yet to decide on his next move.

Reflecting on his journey, Coleman shared with Everton's website: "Coming over here as a 20-year-old from Sligo Rovers to a reserve team, I was just hoping to impress enough to get on the bench. To think I've gone on to make the most Premier League appearances for Everton and to become captain of this great football club—it was beyond my wildest dreams." He added, "The club have been unbelievable with me. They've offered me an opportunity to stay on. The manager and staff have been great, and I'm going to take a nice, long holiday and look back on what has been an amazing time as an Everton footballer."

As Coleman prepares for his final chapter in blue, fans will remember a player who embodied loyalty, grit, and class—a true ambassador for the club. Whether he takes up that coaching role or explores new horizons, his legacy as one of Everton's finest will endure.
