How LeBron really felt about that sequence in Houston.

LeBron James has seen it all in his legendary career, but even he couldn't script the moment he shared with his son, Bronny, during the Lakers' playoff series against the Houston Rockets.

The injury-riddled Lakers weren't expected to breeze past the Rockets in the first round. Luka Doncic didn't play a single minute in the series, and Austin Reaves didn't hit the court until Game 5. Yet at 41 years old, LeBron James steered Los Angeles to a 3-0 series lead, weathered two consecutive losses, and closed out Game 6 to set up a second-round showdown with the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.

James averaged 23.2 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.2 rebounds against Houston. But during a recent episode of his "Mind the Game" podcast with former NBA MVP Steve Nash, he took time to spotlight the growth of his son—and the unforgettable alley-oop that defined Game 3.

Midway through the second quarter of the Lakers' overtime win at Toyota Center, LeBron lofted a lob to Bronny, who converted the layup. It was part of a stretch where the Jameses scored 10 straight points for LA. And in that moment, LeBron admitted he "blanked out."

"I've always been locked in, but that moment right there—throwing him the lob, seeing him make a three, us going back-and-forth—I blanked out for a little bit and just really accepted and relished in that moment," James told Nash.

For a player who has dominated the NBA for over two decades, this was a script even Hollywood couldn't write: Bronny's continued ascent into the playoff rotation, side by side with his father. For fans and families alike, it's a reminder that basketball's greatest moments often transcend the scoreboard.
