The Tennessee Lady Vols volleyball program has officially added a dynamic new playmaker to its roster. On Thursday, the team announced the signing of Mallory Matheny, a standout setter transferring from Indiana University.

Head Coach Eve Rackham Watt couldn't hide her excitement about the addition. "Our Tennessee volleyball program couldn't be more excited to welcome Mallory Matheny to our team," Watt said. "She is a special talent who will be a huge part of our success. Mallory comes from an elite volleyball background and has won at every level. She is quick, accurate, and ultra-competitive. As a setter, she has the ability to lead and inspire in a way that I know her teammates will love playing with. We have had tremendous success at the setter position, and we believe Mallory fits the mold to continue that tradition and help elevate everything we do on and off the court."

Matheny, a native of Columbus, Ohio, honed her skills at Bishop Hartley High School before making the jump to the collegiate level. Her talent was recognized early on—she was featured in the prestigious 2026 Under Armour All-American Game, an honor reserved for just 28 of the nation's top high school players.

She joins an impressive wave of transfers committing to the Lady Vols this season, including Jalyn Stout (Coastal Carolina), Kennedi Rogers (SMU), Nia Hall (South Carolina), and Raegan Burns (Kansas). With this influx of talent, Tennessee is clearly building for a bright future on the court.

For fans looking to show their support, there's never been a better time to gear up in Lady Vols apparel. Whether you're courtside or watching from home, representing the orange and white is a great way to rally behind this exciting new era of Tennessee volleyball.
