The Kentucky Wildcats are still looking for some frontcourt help from the transfer portal. They landed guard Alex Wilkins over the weekend to go with Zoom Diallo, but are still thin up front. There's a good chance Malachi Moreno is back next year, and they'll have Reece Potter, but they'll need to add some more talent there.
One player they have apparently looked at is center is Gabe Dynes who was with the USC Trojans last season. He is a 7'5" big man originally from Independence, Kentucky who committed to Youngstown State out of high school. He spent two years there before transferring to USC last year.
He played about 12 minutes per game for the Trojans and averaged 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1 block per game. Dynes projects as a solid rim protector off the bench, with his offensive game being limited right now.
Kentucky Sports Radio is reporting (subscription required) that Dynes met with coach Mark Pope via FaceTime on Saturday. He also expressed interest in visiting Lexington at some point.
There won't be a decision from Dynes anytime soon, and there will be lots of competition. We will continue to update this story as it develops.
